The New Zealand Returned and Services Association was looking to refresh it’s brand and head into a new direction. In November last year, at the Annual RSA conference in Wellington a new logo was launched along with a press release.

Having just opened it’s doors on Saturday, the Auckland Art Gallery has plenty of new parts to it, one of those is a new logo. The branding was handled by perennial award winner Alt Group.

On Friday the 12th of August, The National Grid Launched their latest issue at the Split Fountain on Karangahape Road.

In an election year many things change in the political landscape. Recently the New Zealand Labour Party changed its logo and website.

While looking at the below posters I thought these could constitute a post on a historical look at the poster series designed by Bret De Thier. Following a few quick emails, I thought an interview would be more interesting.

Like my previous post this, this one will also be looking at a large scale sporting competition in New Zealand, focusing on the design associated with the event. Many of the below design elements were released two years ago, but with the event approaching I thought it would be nice to look over all the elements.

You’re obviously the wrong person to ask… you’re part of a community of designers who actually want to learn and discuss design. But do the majority of New Zealand designers take an interest in Graphic Design in terms of wanting discussions about design theory, changes in design – or is it just something they do?
