I mean 2012. Wrong millennium sorry, late night.

But no criticism of this years' line up at all - a newbie like me is stoked to have anyone with knowledge and experience give up their time to share with me :)

No feminist sentiments here, but I totally agree that Sarah Maxey should have been speaking this year or last year, considering her awesome presentation at TypeShed...
Maybe I'll start a petition for SP 1012.

I don't think gender balance is really an issue for Semi-permanent. It's not 'male orientated', it's just who happens to be producing great work, and who is actually available to drop their busy schedule to share their insights with us. It's about great design, not satisfying feminist sensibilities...

I'm very excited about seeing Adrian Shaughnessy and The Light Surgeons, but seriously – only three female speakers out of twelve?! Why is Semi Permanent always so male oriented? There are so many great female artists and designers based locally and internationally. For example, I'd love to see Deanne Cheuk www.deannecheuk.com/ and Sarah Maxey www.sarahmaxey.co.nz/ speak.
